The CIP is a unique entry into the interface marketplace that was designed to specifically address the special requirements of communicating between diagnostic providers and practices using EMR interfaces. At the heart of CIP is a full featured HL-7 interface engine designed using an Oracle database as the primary development platform. The engine itself was designed to provide a high degree of flexibility in the formatting and routing of outbound messages. It also uses the CIP_CS secure communications server and the Secure Agent deployable communications module of CIP_CS to simply, safely and highly secure communications between faculties, practices and clinics using standard internet technologies. CIP was designed to be flexible and extensible. The CIP engine can also provide a platform for Health Information Exchanges such as the Intechgra Health Information Partnership.
